To change the authority of the QSYSOPR message queue (because of "Not authorized" error message), sign on as security officer and issue the EDTOBJAUT command and press F4.  Fill in the blanks as follows:

Press Enter, the following screen will be shown.

Press F6 to add a user (if several users need to be added, use an authorization list instead – see instructions below for that).

Press Enter

The new user gets added to the list

To create an authorization list:

Type CRTAUTL and press F4

Press Enter to create

Type edtlautl to add users to the list

Press F6 to add users (making sure *public is set to *exclude)

Press Enter

Secure the QSYSOPR message queue with the new authorization list by doing the EDTOBJAUT command again
