Remapping the keyboard in IBM System iAccess

Remapping the keyboard in iSeries Access

While in a session, click on Edit, Preferences, Keyboard:

Click Customize.

Click on the key you want to change, in the example below, the enter key on the 10 key numeric keypad. The key will be red once clicked upon.

Notice at the bottom of the screen the base and shift states of the key says “field exit”.

To change this, click in the function area, and scroll to the world Enter.

Then click on the              key to change the base state to Enter.

Repeat the same step above for the Shift state.

Remember, the word Enter needs to be selected again, then the            key pressed again.

Continue to remap any other keys as desired. (ex. Ctrl C would be Edit Copy, Ctrl V would be edit paste, this is a handy key to remap if you do copy and pastes into another Windows application).
